3-day Roadtrip in Norway from Oslo
Welcome to our latest adventure! This time, we took an unforgettable road trip through the breathtaking landscapes of Norway. From the bustling city of Oslo to the serene fjords and picturesque villages, we’ve compiled a list of our favorite spots to share with you. So, buckle up and join us on this incredible journey!
We started our journey in Oslo, where we rented a Tesla from Getaround and began our journey towards the west fjords.

Our first day in Oslo we have visited most of the attractions and this is our top list for you.
- Visit the iconic Vigeland Sculpture Park, which features more than 200 bronze, granite, and cast-iron sculptures.
- Explore the Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle and fortress that has been used as a prison, a royal residence, and a military base.
- Take a stroll through the charming streets of the historic district of Grünerløkka, which is known for its trendy cafes, boutique shops, and vibrant street art.
- Check out the famous Oslo Opera House, a striking modern building that sits on the waterfront and offers stunning views of the harbor and cityscape.
- Learn about Norway’s seafaring history at the Norwegian Maritime Museum, which has interactive exhibits and artifacts from Viking ships to modern ocean liners.
Our second day in Oslo was a great sunshine day and we decided to
- Take a ferry ride to the nearby Bygdøy Peninsula, which is home to several museums, including the Viking Ship Museum, the Kon-Tiki Museum, and the Norwegian Folk Museum.
- Visit the Munch Museum, which houses a collection of works by Norway’s most famous painter, Edvard Munch.
- Take a scenic walk or bike ride along the Akerselva River, which flows through the heart of the city and offers a peaceful escape from the bustling streets.
- Enjoy a coffee or lunch at one of the many trendy cafes and restaurants in the chic neighborhood of Frogner, which is also home to several art galleries and boutique shops.
- End your day with a visit to the Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Tower, which offers stunning views of the city from its perch on a hilltop and has a museum dedicated to Norway’s long history of skiing.

Our first stop was in Lærdal, a charming town that is known for its stunning natural beauty. We strolled through the streets, taking in the traditional Norwegian architecture and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.
2 Norway Roadtrip stop Flåm
Our journey continued through the breathtaking fjords, where we arrived in the picturesque village of Flåm. Nestled between steep mountains and the Aurlandsfjord, this charming village is a must-visit for its stunning scenery and the famous Flåm Railway.
3 Norway Roadtrip stop Stegastein Viewpoint
Just a short drive from Flåm, we reached the Stegastein Viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the Aurlandsfjord and surrounding mountains. The platform extends 30 meters from the mountainside, providing a thrilling experience and unforgettable vistas.
4 Norway Roadtrip stop Tvindefossen waterfall
As we continued our journey, we stumbled upon the stunning Tvindefossen waterfall. The sheer power and beauty of the cascading water left us awestruck, and we spent some time taking in the views and capturing the moment on camera.
5 Norway Roadtrip stop Borgund Stave Church
Our next stop was the Borgund Stave Church, a beautifully preserved wooden church dating back to the 12th century. The intricate carvings and unique architecture make this a must-see attraction.
6 Norway Roadtrip stop Bergen
Next on our itinerary was Bergen, a charming coastal city that is known for its colorful wooden houses and rich cultural heritage. We explored the city’s historic wharf, sampled some delicious local seafood, and took a scenic cable car ride up to the top of Mount Fløyen for panoramic views of the city.
7 Norway Roadtrip stop Vøringsfossen Waterfall
Continuing our journey, we marveled at the powerful Vøringsfossen Waterfall, one of Norway’s most famous natural attractions. The thundering water plunges 182 meters into the Måbødalen valley, creating a truly awe-inspiring sight.
8 Norway Roadtrip stop Hardangerfjord
We couldn’t miss the opportunity to explore Hardangerfjord, the second-longest fjord in Norway. Known for its idyllic villages, lush orchards, and dramatic waterfalls, this region offers endless opportunities for hiking, sightseeing, and photography.
9 Norway Roadtrip stop Dyranut Fjellstova
After Bergen, we made our way to Dyranut Fjellstova, where we had an unforgettable meal surrounded by the stunning mountains of the Hardangervidda plateau. The traditional Norwegian cuisine, paired with the breathtaking scenery, made for a truly magical experience.
As our journey came to a close, we headed back to Oslo, reflecting on the incredible memories and experiences we had accumulated along the way. From the serene fjords to the vibrant cities, Norway had exceeded our expectations in every way possible.
